Immuni-Toddys!

Winter is here and with it comes cold and flu season! Tis the season for sore throats and sniffles. Everyone’s immune system seems to be a little compromised during winter, between the holiday stress and cold weather. The best thing you can do is support your immune system with real food, lots of sleep, and maybe some supplements like this immuni-toddy! Now, this is not a hot toddy, it’s better! It’s a hot, health boosting, immunity toddy! It’s non-alcoholic and packed with ginger, turmeric and honey to support your immune system. Here’s the recipe!

Ingredients: (makes 2 cups)
• 2 packs chamomile tea
• 4 inch piece ginger root (fresh)
• 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
• 1 sliced lemon
• 1 tablespoon Honey

Method:
• Chop the ginger into small pieces and boil it in water for about 10 minutes to extract the nutrients
• Drain the liquid (pour into 2 mugs) and take the ginger out
• Add the packs of chamomile tea
• Squeeze half a lemon in each cup
• Add about half a tablespoon of honey to each cup (depending on how sweet you like it)
• Add a few shakes of turmeric (about half a teaspoon per cup)
• Drink!
