Hi there, I’m Kristina!
Thanks for stopping by, here’s a little bit about me.
I grew up in a big, pasta and bread eating, Italian family in the Bay Area. Growing up, I was always obsessed with health and the environment but I had no direction and a handful of problems. I always had stomach issues but no one could ever figure out what was wrong with me. I tried vegetarian, vegan, and all sorts of stuff. I was using only natural products and eating organic and grass fed but nothing got better. Through my own research I realized that I was gluten intolerant and lactose intolerant. It was a hard realization when my whole family lived on cheese and pasta. But I became obsessed, I dove in further and eventually I decided to compete in a bodybuilding competition, and it made me realize what nutrition can really do. It introduced me to the keto diet. On the keto diet I lost weight and felt better, I was never bloated and always satisfied. After my competition though, I needed a way to maintain my weight without being so extreme. So I started eating mostly paleo and it changed my life. I was able to maintain my weight, I felt better than ever and started making my own recipes. This started my journey with paleo diet, nutritional research and blogging.
I started reading countless books, interviewed Gary Taubes, and decided to get my degree in nutrition. My blog has been a way for me to share my fitness tips, express my nutritional views and share recipes and information with others.
I have realized that the food we eat has a huge impact on the quality of our lives and through my own journey, discovered I wanted to help others understand this too. I am passionate about health, nutrition, fitness, the planet and anything eco-friendly. I have been following the non-toxic beauty movement since it began and have been an advocate for sustainable fashion practices for the last couple years. I am on a mission to help people live more fulfilling lives through food, fitness and everything in between.
I am currently a student at UC Davis working on my degree in Nutrition. In my spare time I love to post recipes, fitness tips, sustainable fashion tips and non-toxic beauty ideas. I also offer fitness plans, nutrition plans and am always here to answer questions!
